Dear Mr. Araya and UN officials,

Please see "DWP admits investigating 60 benefit-related deaths since 2012" (http://disabilitynewsservice.com/2014/11/dwp-admits-investigating-60-benefit-related-deaths-since-2012/) and the related articles below it. About a month ago, I brought this list (http://twishort.com/0x9gc) to the attention of UK's disability campaign group Black Triangle, and will continue to update it. I did not include this possible suicide (http://tinyurl.com/mno4zt2) because the individual appears to be able-bodied, but the case may be of interest to Ms. Leilani Farha, Special Rapporteur on adequate housing, whom I've included in this communication.

I'm wondering if it's worthwhile attempting to procure from the Department for Work and Pensions the 60 peer reviews that the Department has performed into benefit-claimant deaths? When I attempted, early this year, to have the personal files of the late Mark Wood (see http://tinyurl.com/ks8smxg) sent directly to Mr. Jorge Araya, I was thwarted by UK's Data Protection Act. Apparently, the estate executor must make the request. According to Mark Wood's sister, with whom I have a correspondence, her mother is his executor and she'll strive to get his files via her. (personal correspondence, October 13 2014). The British government has admitted to wrongly terminating his benefits ( http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-2592214/We-wrong-Government-admits-not-axed-disability-benefits-Aspergers-sufferer-starved-death-just-four-months-later-weighing-five-half-stone.html)

Another matter of interest is this significant legal judgement:

Judge brands DWP jobseeker’s agreement ‘unlawful’, after action by disabled claimant (http://disabilitynewsservice.com/2014/11/judge-brands-dwp-jobseekers-agreement-unlawful-action-disabled-claimant/); the article is self-explanatory.

Thanking you in advance for your consideration to these matters.

Warm regards.
