Martin Tiplady was the Metropolitan Police's director of human resources. He is a married man in his 50s who was awarded an OBE from the Queen last year. He has recently been investigated over serious and highly sensitive sexual misconduct allegations relating to young female colleague Raphaella Hamilton-Appiah. Tiplady has been given preferential treatment in escaping prosecution because of his status in the force and the Metropolitan Police are now trying to cover the matter up. Tiplady later took early retirement after a period of sick leave and has received a sizeable pay-off.
